Our Favorite Albums (381 – 390)

381. Suzanne Vega – Suzanne Vega [1985]

Nominated by Karen Stein of Imagine who says: Debut album of a versatile songwriter. Went platinum; not bad for a 25-year-old new kid on the block. Strong writing- a few of the better top40 hits of 1985 came from this album- Small Blue Thing, Marlene on the Wall. Edgy production from Patti Smith’s guitarist, Lenny Kaye.

382. The Black Crowes – Amorica [1994]

Nominated by Johnny Ganache of Pint O’ Comics who says: Great rock record. Better than their second in my opinion which is remembered better.

383. DEVO – Freedom of Choice [1980]

Nominated by DJ MTSPEN of Storytime & Motivation Nation who says: Was shocked at age 14 to discover that DEVO was considered by some. Again, a great album that is a sentimental pick.

384. Hank Snow – The Wreck of the Old 97 [1971]

Nominated by Bill Revill of Acoustic Blender who says: Classic country and you can hear the folk roots.

385. The Crusaders – Scratch [1974]

Nominated by Michael Benson of 75% Folk who says: Live album in small venue. Must have been a great night.

386. Bruce Springsteen – Live in the Promised Land [1978]

Nominated by Francesco Fiumara or Caffè Italia who says: and then you start to discover bootlegs.

387. Herbie Hancock – Head Hunters [1973]

388. The Who – Live at Hull 1970 [2012]

Nominated by Sir Jon of Pint O’ Comics who says: While live selections of The Who are usually centered on Live at Leeds, this 2012 release surpasses them all. Raw, wild, pure The Who. As I’ll never see them live, this is the greatest I’ll get.

389. KISS – Alive II [1977]

Nominated by Big Bent of Dub Revolution (and many more) who says: Setting high expectations for live rock shows with excessive blood fire and makeup!

390. Come Back – Dust Hat [2020]
