Board Meeting 2/18/20

  3. Old Business
    1. Personnel situation
      1. Executive board is working on a solution…
    2. Training
      1. Didn’t really get any sign-ups during club fair
      2. But merch table in Usdan (during lunch) and WesAdmits posts could be very helpful
        1. To do merch table, we need to book a table with Usdan info desk or potentially via EMS
        2. Can charge $10-15 for our old shirts (check in with Ben M, and he’ll give us merch)
        3. Dylan will check in about booking the merch table and then we’ll decide whether Wed or Thurs
      3. Training starting week before spring break, interest session this weekend on Sunday @ 5 pm in PAC 001; so, if we could do merch table this week, that would be ideal
      4. 1 last trainee from last semester will be taking a practical very soon (he was one internship away from being done)
      5. We should add signing up for the club fair to people’s legacy docs (Personnel + VP)
    3. WesNest 
      1. Learning about and starting to utilize this new campus system/resource – will add folks as necessary.
    4. Pledge Drive
      1. Still getting some nice checks in the mail!
      2. Sent out 150 receipts so far – will send out some premiums tomorrow with weekly intern from MTA.
    5. New board position to help with Pledge Drive??
      1. In the past, board was a lot more engaged with the pledge drive, especially the VP
      2. But it’s a lot to pile onto any one position
      3. Getting pledge drive started earlier than later would be a lot more conducive to getting board involved
      4. Basically: Ben M will consider it, but hesitant to add anyone else to the board when it’s already so full
    6. Antenna repair
      1. BM met with a local crane operator today. Waiting for a quote.
    7. Program
      1. Routes and Routes has been worked out and added to the schedule starting next Monday
      2. Leith has set it up in the online program guides as well.
      3. Friday night no-show? Elvee? BM heard him on Sat filling in for DJ Sabotage but not on Friday and Saam noted that the two shows preceding him were missing from the logs… 
        1. Ben S please follow up with Elvee?
        2. also, we’ve been having several issues where DJs don’t realize that the show before them is automated and assume no-show… so we should have an updated print program/comprehensive staff list in the studio for people to refer to
      4. Student personal leave
    8. Program guide 
      1. Is this just on Ben S – or is someone else working on the design aspect?
        1. Lulu has a friend waiting for direction from Ben S…
        2. Turn-around for print is about a week
    9. Record Fair
      1. April 4th!

    1. Leith:
      1. Start WESU broadcast day at 12 a.m.?
        1. At this point it’s just a legacy thing: we used to have programming where the last DJ would say “this is the last program of the day” and the first “this is the first program of the day…” 
        2. But at this point, there’s no real reason to hold onto it…
        3. Board seems unanimous in support!
          1. Would alleviate technical difficulties and confusion
        4. Will wait for Ben Spencer’s presence/approval to vote on it officially, but it seems like it’ll pass!
      2.  Looking to recruit a few more Jivers (2-3)
        1. Especially Thursday, maybe Friday too
        2. Ideally we’d have a team
        3. Carina and Lulu are interested; we’ll bring Luke in too
          1. Email Leith to express interest!
        4. Basically about updating text/blog and doing the actual recording
    2. Spring break coverage
      1. Programming coverage + music reporting/adds
        1. Can utilize MYRP connects – i.e. Quinn wants to pick up digital production skills anyway

    1. Time for BMI report – music tracking of 3-4 days of every song we play for BMI royalties (for Music Directors)
