**Staff Meeting this Sunday

Beth:

  • How might we restructure board meetings?
  • Next year’s board: people have been approaching and inquiring!
    • Elections will likely be in April! If you know of anyone who is interested or might be a good fit let us know/start thinking about it
  • Staff photo: Hoping to do this in April
  • 80th Anniversary Events:
    • What is feasible for this iteration of the board to do with the time we have left? What is best left to next semester/over the summer?
    • Jen: What about 1 event? More organized and perhaps more likely to net money
      • On Campus
      • Should be affordable for everyone — $10 for students//$20 for adults
      • Is it a celebration or is it a fundraiser? It can be both but how do we want to present it to the public?
    • Jake: What about one big student concert at Eclectic with a merch table and door donations?
      • We should get on booking this if we want to run with it — spaces fill up
        • First or second weekend after break?

Babe:

  • Working on revising the written exam in time for training

Meg:

  • Waitlist for community members who do not get shows — currently there does not appear to be a need for this/few shows have been refused a slot
  • Programming ??
  • Too many people have been asking for coverage — might we bring this up (esp. to students) in the staff meeting?

Tallulah:

  • New show promos,  80th anniversary station IDs and promos, and clean up of PSA stash in studio A
  • (Rachel) need new public affairs promos ASAP to announce new times for pacifica shows

Jake:

  • Planning hip-hop show — should we try to piggyback on the film event in the fall? How much do we want to offer?
    • We have some funding but what do we need to do, specifically, to move forward?
  • Idea of Bobbito Garcia, Akua Naru, Chuck D

Dillon:

  • Booking bands for record fair
    • Might be nice to have student bands outside — looking for ideas
    • Can’t be indoors because patrons worried about losing business even though it’s a linked event
    • Would we need additional approval from SALD?
    • Freshman bands that are new?
  • First wave of volunteer signups going out soon

Rachel:

  • Public file? Need 2018 quarter report and the 1st quarter will be due by end of March
  • Get the MYRP contact info to BM so he can invite him to a meeting (i assume with…clifton watson) — DONE!
  • Could we all look at the PA standards together at a future meeting?

Helly/Ruth:

  • Keep updating the music blog — lists are fine — can this go back to being weekly?
    • It is updated! Nothing was sent in last week because of president’s day
  • New music purchasing : asking sub MDs & staff for suggestions
    • Redscroll trip! Let’s figure out a day – March 30th!!!

Carina:

  • In the process of updating the website
    • Met with Ben and identified some things that might be revamped
      • Theme might be changed — a lot of empty space
      • Menus/organization can be more efficient, names can be clearer
    • Doing away with the blog format
    • Maybe an 80th anniversary page?

Will:

  • Training: Thursdays/Sundays at 6
    • Can anyone come and help out? Jen can do Thursdays – it’s nice to have a community member helping out, especially/at least for the intro
    • Possible to condense into one day a week if we don’t have so many trainees?
    • Not too late to refer people?
  • Fixing up the test before training
