Spring Pledge Drive 2021

Donate today!
Warm weather is here, and so is WESU Middletown’s spring pledge drive 2021! Without listener support, it would be impossible to broadcast our unique blend of music and public affairs content. Our curation of freeform radio shows is made possible by over 150 volunteer student and community member DJ’s, two part-time employees, and one full-time General Manager. We are funded through financial support from Wesleyan University, the Wesleyan Student Assembly, and, most importantly, listeners like you!

Your donation to WESU would allow us to build upon all of our recent successes. At the start of the spring season, we welcomed 22 new DJ’s and 15 new shows producing a vast array of content. We are also excited to be re-airing “Party in the Bardo”, conversations with writer, director, visual artist, and vocalist Laurie Anderson. These conversations were commissioned by Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts, and made possible by a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Philip J. and Lynn Rauch Fund for Innovation, with support from the Center for the Arts and WESU. Finally, we recently overcame a tremendous obstacle: the internet server was down, meaning listeners nationwide and internationally could not stream WESU content on the web. Led by a WESU volunteer, supported by WESU and Wesleyan ITS staff, our internet live stream was back online after a week of dead air, restoring accessible radio to an enormous community of listeners.

WESU staff and volunteers have remained hard at work serving the community 24/7 throughout the pandemic, under less than ideal conditions for volunteer broadcasters. Your support during our spring pledge drive, will ensure we can continue to hold down the fort and make great strides this spring season! Secure donations can be made online at www.wesufm.org/pledge or by sending a check or money order directly to WESU Radio, 45 Broad Street, 2nd Fl, Middletown, CT 06457.
