Staff Meeting 9/9/18

  2. Summer Wrap-Up: Anyone who DJed wanna share anything from the season?
  3. Updates/Notes/Alerts:

President/Beth:

  • Let’s keep in mind our mission statement as we move forward! Always a good reminder of why we are here & how you should be thinking of your curated shows
  • 90% of Pledge mailings have gone out (from Ben) — rest should be done imminently!
  • WESU workstudy – WESU staff email generalmanager@wesufm.org if interested in paid work at WESU this season. This only for workstudy students looking to fill 10 hrs with 2 people.
  • Move to electronic attendance — we are going to move towards an electronic attendance and are going to remind people the service hours and recorded online — we are going to do a better job of keeping track this year!!! Come on time

 

VP/Babe:

  • Communicate any and all budget needs by the end of the month
  • ***Spinitron – all djs need accounts – provide instructions for staff to create account Spinitron V2 – save time for a discussion of what DJs have learned so far….

 

Program/Meg:

  • New Program is out!
    • Print version?
  • Automation! Turn it on!
    • If your show is followed or preceded by automation, it will be highlighted in GREY on the program — this means that you will want to be lowering and/or raising the pot in accordance with the computer clock
  • Alternating weeks
  • Coverage procedure: Use automation if the DJ in question on either side of your show does not appear and does not respond to your contact attempts
    • Posting a notice about coverage protocol in the studio?

 

PR/Jake:

  • Rec Fair needs a fb event and some PR work ASAP for Rec Fair (audio promos and a flyer) — Record Fair schedule for October 14th in Beckham Hall
    • Look out for flyers printed in the station that you can take with you to hand out among the community
    • Hit up Tallulah for making promos for this event
  • Facebook posts and promos for fall season
  • Board hours from 4-6
  • Info Session: thursday 7pm in PAC 001

 

Personnel/Will:

  • TRAINING
  • “My apologies for not being here. I am will Jacobson and I am the personnel director. My job is to run the training session, keep the staff list up to date, and keep track of service hours. In the past service hours have been submitted electronically via a google form but there have been some complaints that this is not the most efficient way to keep track. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make any aspects of the station that I oversee more smoothly, please reach out to me, I am open to all ideas. My board hours are 4-6 Thursday, so feel free to stop byyy”

 

Music/Helly&Ruth:

  • Summer Music reporting!
    • All charts and new music library up to date!
  • Ben in the next week is going to order the list of music I compiled last year

 

Events/Dillon:

  • Record fair is 10/14
    • Volunteers needed: Load-in/out, staffing tables, DJs
    • Google sheets for volunteering will take effect this semester
  • 80th anniversary of WESU this Spring, fundraiser will be in Spring

 

Production/Tallulah:

  • **DJs PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make promos for your shows sooner than later! Also for fall record fair!

 

Public Affairs/Rachel:

  • Public affairs M-F lineup has been switched around — some new stuff, some shows gone — in an effort to make news coverage more current/manage delays (Meg has a few details)
  • Gauge interest for DJs who might want to host MYRP this semester
    • Opportunity for middle and high school aged students in traverse square to create their own half hour, once-weekly radio program

 

Tech/Carina:

  • Pics going up on new website/recently spun section
  • I’ll send out an email for new users about how to sign up for spinitron
  • I’ll start updating spinitron/streamrewind schedules
